Die Tschechische Republik, die Hauptstadt Prag, liegt im Mitteleuropa, besteht aus drei historischen Gebieten Böhmen, Moravien und Schlesien, in 14 Bezirke verteilt. Die Fläche von 78 864 km2 und 10,3 Million Einwohner. Sie ist mit Slowakei, Polen, Deutschland und Österreich benachbart. Die Staatsform ist die Republik. Der Tiefpunkt ist die Gemeinde Hřensko 116 m ü.d.M., der Höchstpunkt ist der Berg Sněžka 1602 m. ü.d.M. Das Landprofil ist typisch unterschiedlich in der Seehöhe. Der Groβteil der Oberfläche ist durch die Hochebene des Böhmischen Massivs bedeckt, in dem Grenzgebiet im Nordteil der Tschechischen Republik befindet sich das Höchstgebirge Krkonoše, die weitere sind Erzgebirge, Šumava, Jizerské Gebirge, Böhmischer Wald, Orlické Gebirge, Jeseníky, in dem Innland im Osten erstrecken sich die weitgehendste die Böhmisch-Mährische Höhe, Beskydy und Weiβe Karpaten.
