Town Nepomuk – Birthplace of St. Jan Nepomucký, City of Museums
In a picturesque countryside, 35 km south-east of Pilsen, lies the town of Nepomuk. The signifi cant Czech saint St. John of Nepomuk was born here. On the site of his birthplace now the Baroque church of St. John´s Museum of Nepomuk is standing. In Nepomuk you can fi nd four museums: the Midsummer Museum, the Municipal Museum and the Gallery, the Birthouse of the painter Augustin Němejc and the exhibition of veterans at the Zelenohorská Post Offi ce. The local chateau Zelená Hora (Green Mountain) is famous by Black Barons and fi nding of Zelenohorský Manuscript. Nature trail is leading around the Green Mountains. You can visit, with children, the entertainment park or a model railroad in Vrčeň.
