The Velemín Region and Milešovka – a queen of Central Bohemian Uplands
Velemín village and its local parts are located in the western part of the Bohemian Uplands surrounded by the most beautiful views. It is a paradise for tourists and cyclists. Region is interwoven with a network of nature trails and bike routes. Milešovka (837 meters above sea level) dominates the region. A part thereof is the National Nature Preserve. The 19-meter high observation tower and a newly opened restaurant with amazing views into the heart of the Bohemian Uplands serve for tourists. Lovely Oparenské Valley, Lovoš, Kletečná, these are the places that you should not miss to visit. The jewel of the region is also the Boreč Hill (440 meter above sea level) with its pits, where the temperature is up to 16 degrees higher than that of surrounding. These diff erences are most apparent in the winter when the Boreč becomes an island of spring in the middle of winter.
