The touring base for exploring the Olomouc Region on the plain Hana. The fi rst mention of the village comes from 1078. The Today‘s village Bohunovice, which was founded in 1960 by merging the municipalities Trusovice and Moravska Lodenice, has today more than 2,550 inhabitants. It lies between the towns of Olomouc and Sternberk under NizkyJesenik with a view onto the pilgrimage site of Svaty Kopecek (Holy Hill). An important cycling trail Hvezdna passes through Bohunovice. In the village you can use sports and children‘s playground, tennis courts, riding club with riding school and aquapark „Health Center“ with 100m water slide, whirlpool, solarium, sauna, gym and adjacent dormitory. In addition to fi lms, the local cinema also offers travel lectures and discussions with interesting personalities. Those, who visit Bohunovice during the Easter season, can experience village traditions with folk rituals, because on Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday there are festivities of „Mothers“, which were recently entered into the List of Intangible Property of Traditional Folk Culture of the Czech Republic.
