Liberec was the second largest Czech city in the 19th century thanks to the development of industry. The Liberec Technical Museum demonstrates the importance of the automotive and textile industries, railway transport, etc. for the entire region. The museum offers 4 pavilions full of luxury cars, motorcycles and unique bicycles, as well as cable cars, trams and other exhibits. Many of them are interactive. The museum is suitable for all ages. Grandparents will reminisce about the means of transport of their youth, children will be delighted by the opportunity to drive a tram counter, drive a model of a tram using an exercise bike, and the accessible model of the first submarine. The middle generation is fascinated by historic cars from America, but also from other origins. Will you try to find tools? Guess the purpose of machines? Assemble an electrical junction box? The Liberec Technical Museum offers all this and much more.
In addition to regular exhibitions, other events are also taking place, such as a route for the youngest children, Searching for Lost Tools, a competition for older children, Guess What You See, and also photo shoots with benefits, which include the possibility of renting costumes for your thematic photos for free. From June to the end of September 2025, the museum is expanding its exhibitions with another pavilion with an exhibition of aircraft models and aviation attractions, Head in the Clouds. Inside the exhibitions are also interactive sculptures by Zdeněk Vilém - Fantastic Menagerie and an exhibition of paintings, Dreamy Liberec by Jiří Zejmon.
