It is spread in the south-west part of the region, on the left bank of the River Litava, approx. 8 km south-westward from Slavkov by Brno.
The first written mention of the village dates to 1209. In Šaratice dominates the St. Nicholas Church, built by the architect Richard Martin in 1902 – 1903 in the New Romanesque style on the place of destroyed Gothic church, the statue of St. John Nepomucký from the 18th century, the archaeological locality Kopeček – the monument of two cultures. Šaratice is known not only on the territory of the Czech Republic by the mineral water spring called „Šaratica“. This water is already pumped since 1896. The social, cultural and sport events: the day-time and night time competition in fi re sport, the international run Šaratice – the Cairn of Piece Memorial (Mohyla míru) - Šaratice, Traditional feast with a parade of head millers, the competition of amateur teams in boiling of goulash with tasting of several kinds of beers.
